BABY SENSORY (6 months+) & PRESCHOOL (2-4 years)
Baby sensory is for bubs 6 months+ and parents/carers looking for the perfect activity to engage in exploration with colour, texture, nursey rhymes, music and movement with their little one. This magical 30 minute lesson is the perfect introductuon to music and movement! Our Preschool dancers enjoy a fun, structured lesson, using props while focusing on the basic techniques of Ballet, Jazz and Acrobatics. This class is the perfect activity for developing fine motor skills, balance, coordination, speech, social skills and imagination!
R.A.D CLASSICAL BALLET
The Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus is an influential dance organisation and is accredited worldwide.Dance House Studios is proud to offer students with Classical training and optional examinations following the R.A.D syllabus. Classical training allows students to develop their technical foundation and support them through all styles of dance. It improves posture, coordination, flexibility, grace, strength, musicality while giving students a sense of structure and discipline in dance.Studio Owner Danika Hampstead is a qualified Ballet teacher with the R.A.D and has experience teaching all levels from Primary to Vocational Graded.
JAZZ
Dance House Studios offers age appropriate, fun and upbeat Jazz classes!Students will learn the varying styles of Jazz including Commercial styles seen in pop music videos to old school Jazz with technical influencers such as Bob Fosse. Jazz classes involve a high energy warm up and stretch, corner progressions including Jazz technique in their Kicks, Turns and Leaps followed by choreography.
TAP
Tap is a technical and high-energy style of dance that teaches rhythm, timing, musicality and coordination. Tap dance was made famous by groups such as The Tap Dogs and musicals such as Hot Shoe Shuffle.
THEATRE JAZZ
Theatre Jazz combines the arts of Dance, Drama and Singing all in one class! Students will learn age-appropriate routines and progressions from hit Broadway musical soundtracks such as Matila, Mary Poppins, West Side Story, Hairspray and Hamilton! Students will enjoy drama games to improve their acting skills and expression as well as group singing and chorus work.
LYRICAL/CONTEMPORARY
Combines the technical elements of Classical Ballet with freedom, fluidity and floorwork. Lyrical and Contemporary encourage self-expression, natural movement and personal interpretation.
KICK, TURN & LEAP
A class dedicated to Kick, Turn and Leap progressions! Students learn the correct and safe way to incorporate advanced dance movements into their skill set.
JFH (JAZZ/FUNK/HIP HOP)
A stylised combination of Jazz, Funk and Hip Hop.Students will learn appropriate grooves in this fun, upbeat class!
PRE-POINTE & POINTE
Pre-Pointe and Pointe conditioning provides our dancers with the skills to safely dance in Pointe Shoes.Suitable for students getting ready to start Pointe work or who are already working en pointe, this class will focus on foot and ankle strength, pointe readiness and pointe progressions to ensure dancers are safely making the transition from flats to pointe shoes.
ACROBATICS
Students will safely explore the fundamentals of Acrobatics. Get your handstand strong, your cartwheel clean and your back bending with this fun class! Students will work on flexibility, control and coordination while learning basic tumbling moves with an experienced teacher.
SOLO/DUO/TRIO LESSONS & PERFORMANCE TEAMS
Dance House Studios offers Solo/Duo/Trio lessons in all dance styles, preparation for ballet examinations, competition routines, personalised stretch and strength training programs or just for fun! Our performance team members have the opportunity to perform at local events and competitions throughout the year. Students who wish to join Performance teams must show dedication and commitment to their dance training and team.
